last week of work
so i haven't blogged at all since the beginning of work. I guess i really only do this when I start to get alot of time on my hands. well anyway. the last week of work should be this week. My season was pretty fun, I liked the crew alot. I like rappelling although I am not very good at that aspect of the job. I like the rappel fires, I am just not smooth off the skids. I am planning to work again for Blue Mountain Rappellers again next season. This season I got right around 600 hours overtime, which i pretty good for a normal rappel season, and more than I have ever had. but it was actually a very big season for the rappel crews. Most people I know are between 750-1000 hours overtime. So due to my wedding in june, which I am not sure I have blogged about or not, but I got married in June to Audra Frank(Schmeits now), it was a small wedding in my parents backyard and it was great and alot of fun. I am currently looking to get a honeymoon together right after the season is over. but due to the wedding and my friends wedding in early august I was behind everyone else on my crew. Which sucks. I want my crew to know that they can count on me, next season I am hoping I can get through it without taking hardly any time off.
My workouts throughout the summer, along with nutrition, was very much a roller coaster ride, it is tough to get exercise and eat right when you are sitting on a helibase all day. and the food they give us on rappel fires is mostly about stacking calories so that you can work. So anyway I am definitely weaker, slower, and in worse shape than I was coming into the season. I am not in any way completely out of shape. just not like I was 5 months ago. I am going to start getting super motivated with all this time I am going to have after this week. I am also going to look into the local ymca and check out prices and stuff for the pool and try swimming more.
O also, I applied to Easter Oregon University. I want to get a degree before I get too far out of college. They have a major in Health and wellness with a concentration on exercise science, or something along those lines that I am going to look into. So I am pretty excited about that.
I don't mind living in la grande, and I love being with Audra. but i do miss friends. I only really have a couple friends here in la grande. I will probably be traveling a little bit coming up soon.
But yeah, just started working out for today, nothing exciting, hopefully i can start committing to health and fitness this week. Just getting back into blogging since I will have alot more time starting right about now.
