Yup Back to the Grind

Alright back to playing a bit of Final Fantasy as I have some free time tonight. So I think I left off right before i got the Airship, well I got the levitone then was told by someone in the town that it has something to do with the desert to the south, so I went there and got the airship after running around lost for a bit. Then I found a few places, Gaia seemed like the next town and they are missing a fairy I think, and mentioned a caravan and a desert, so hopefully I will get that figured out. I then notice a few holes and landed and went in, turns out it was dragon caves, so I saved and talked to a dragon, he mentioned the dragon king, I found some cash then went to other caves, eventually found the dragon king, Bahamut duh, he upgraded all my characters, so I now have a knight, master, black and white wizards, I haven't noticed anything about them being stronger or better in any way during a battle, so we will see. This game is also getting so confusing, now that I can fly around, I am not sure if there is a map I can bring up on the game, so I am now using one online to help me see where I need to go because I have spent too much time running around confused now sure which way or town I am supposed to go to.
I found a town called ornac I think, nothing exciting there, they mentioned a waterfall to the north so I canoed over there and got some treasure and a robot thing gave me a warp cube, I am assuming that will come in handy some day. Then I flew south because I am looking for a desert to find the caravan that stole the fairy, then I found it and there was just a guy selling a bottled fairy for 50,000 bucks, so  I bought the fairy, when I got her back to Gaia she flew north to a lake and brought me back Oxyale, which I think makes me breath underwater... So after flying around for a while trying to get to this new town that I couldn't figure out how to get near from the airship, I remembered that there is a dock in onrac I maybe the whole breathing underwater thing will come in handy there....And now I am on a quest to save mermaids! Riding a barrell to the bottom of the ocean...I don't know if this game is as random as it seems or maybe I am not paying enough attention to the storyline. Either way this game is difficult to follow and to know what to do next, when I play through Final Fantasy 2 I may just go ahead and follow an online guide, this is taking way too much time just wondering not sure where to go...
So I am now fighting through this water dungeon and I think "hey, I found a sword a while ago that is good against aquatics" I was expecting it to do like double damage or something, but I am not noticing it being any more powerful than it's damage indicates. I did find a sword with blink effect, an ax with Dia2 effect, and a staff with fire2, so these will hopefully give my mages more options during normal battles. So fighting my way down 5 floors of this dungeon, then I get to the top floor, I guess fighting my way up the dungeon.....anyway, get to the top floor and there are mermaids all over and I find a Rosetta Stone, no mermaids really tell me anything to exciting or helpful. Fought my way around and found a different stair case. These dungeons are confusing because of the multiple stairways that can have you going up and back down, then back up a different way then back to the bottom to a different portion of floor 1, which is was happened this time. Then fought a kraken, probably the toughest boss I have fought. Very good defense, has an attack that almost killed a couple of my people, but was able to heal and kill him in about 4 rounds.  One more crystal/orb down. One more to go...
Alright pretty sure that this town is the only place left, well that town and a tower, so I am assuming that this will be the last orb and pretty much the end of the game. So I am going to travel back through old towns and see if I missed any equipment or magic that I couldn't afford at the time. I found a second magic seller at gaia that is selling magic for the wizards only, not mages, so I couldn't get it earlier, man its expensive... Some npc's are saying new things. some people seem pretty excited that I have an airship... not much new in most places...found a guy in melmund who used the rosetta stone I found to teach me a new language..lufenian. So I am assuming I need to know that before the next town.. I am confused on what I would have done if I didn't go back and visit each town. I feel like that was a very lucky decision I made. Well I guess it's time to hit the last town, don't really want to train any more, level 27's and 35 hours in, gonna try and go for it.
So this last town was tough to get to, no good place to park my airship, which once you get there makes no sense, the town is lufenia, they are sky people and apparently they build the airship, so again, makes no sense that there was no good place to park next to it. There is also nothing in this town, no buildings to go into. Also, I learned that you need to talk to everyone in every town you go to which is very lucky again because somebody in the bottom corner of this town gave me a bell which feels very necessary to get into the mirage tower and fight tiamat I think, at least based on what the people in this town are telling me.,.. So I just realized really how lucky it was that I went back through the old towns to make sure I have all the magic and crap, if I hadn't how would I have learned Lufenian? I would've come here and the game probably would've just had conversation boxed with jibberish, how then would I have thought "Oh yeah I need to go talk to that guy, show him the rosetta stone and learn Lufenian" like I don't remember him at all, or anyone telling me to find the rosetta stone or anything about this language or the sky people, I would've been lost and pissed off. Well rant over, off to the mirage tower I think...
Holy crap that was some tedious dungoening, the worst thing was that some chests had a few really good items so I wanted to try to find them all. So I was looking everywhere. It got long and luckily I found a couple more items that cast heal, so if I found myself in a fairly simple battle I would attach with one guy and have my other players casting heal without using any mp. It was long and slow but made it possible to get through. I also found some adamantine.. seems fairly special. Also, I got super lost on floor 4. then I finally figured it out and got to tiamat. He was tough, he hit really hard, almost killed my mage vivi, but I caste haste on my monk and he was doing some serious damage, so I finished him in about 3-4 rounds. Now level 29-30 with everyone. When I was up on the third floor there was a window to look through and it showed all of the elemental towers pulsing and shining toward a tower in the middle of the map, so I guess that is my final destination...
