Week 1 of work

it has been a long while since I last posted, work started this week and I will probably work around 60-64 hours this week. A lot of it has been long and boring, but that is really usual since the first week or two is just safety and some classes and fire refresher, defensive driving, meeting, stuff like that.
But this weekend we got an opportunity to help another zone on our forest with some prescribed fires, which is awesome cause it gives us overtime, and we can start to get used to hiking again, just getting used to it and getting our feet and boots broken in for a couple days is great. having to break in your muscles and feet on a real fire is pretty rough especially if it is a big one where you hike a ton. So this is pretty handy.
My workouts have been a little all over the place cause we have been working out at work and I have been a little at home, and hiking is really tough too. I am not going to go into too much depth with the workouts, just list them pretty much.
On monday we had the pack test, which is 3 miles with a 45 pound pack, I did it not really fast but with good pace in 36 minutes. Then later we did as many pushups in a minute, 70, and situps, 74. then we weren't able to use the college track cause lots of people were on it, so we just did some aerobic stuff instead.
On Tuesday we did the 85lb pack test, 3 miles, I did it in 44 minutes. Later we did a 3 mile run.
On Wednesday I can't remember what we did, I think just some pullups, but I did pullups and cleans later when I got home.
On Thursday we finished the Fit Test with the mile and a half run, I did it in 7:53, which is a new base record, so I was pretty pleased with that, beating my old boss Jason's record of 8:08 has been my training goal for most of this spring, so that was really cool. Then we did a 3 mile run later.
On Friday we did a 6 mile run, then lots of stretching later.
Saturday was overtime burning for prescribed burns, which is a day of mostly hiking around, and I was really beat afterwards. Today looks to be more of the same.
I think that is about it for workouts

I like my new crew quite a bit, I wish in general that they worked harder sometimes during pt, but that is okay, I will do my own thing and work as hard as I need too. But just as far as getting along with everyone I think it is a really fun crew, and I am really excited to get started learning some actual rappelling stuff, well got to go to work.
